Collecting Cousins Blog: The World Is Not EndingAlternatives to Family Tree Maker

Since Family Tree Maker is available in versions for both Mac and Windows, its discontinuation affects users on both operating systems. Below you will find links to alternatives by operating system. Keep in mind that you do not want to have to make this switch multiple times, so look into how popular a product is as that is likely to affect future development. A program that is known only in small circles is less likely to support continued development than something like RootsMagic or Reunion. You might find the reviews on GenSoftReviews helpful when making a decision.
